Basic First Aid – 16 hours

First Aid Training will empower people and members from any institution following the course to respond in an emergency with confidence, extending first aid training to people teaches them to care for others, equipping them with skills to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Risk Assessment course -10 hours

Aim and Objectives of the course:

You will learn

  •  Why carrying out a risk assessment is essential for improving Safety and Health.
  • Understand the types of injuries and ill-health that occur as a result of failing to manage safety and Health.
  • Have an awareness of the legal responsibilities placed on employers and employees when carrying out risk assessments.
  • Understand each of the five key steps of the risk assessment process.
  • Feel confident carrying out suitable and sufficient risk assessments of their workplace and work activities.
  • Understand what needs to be considered when completing a COVID-19 risk assessment.

Safety and Health – 20 hours

Module code: HSW/M/01/2020

The objective of this course is to support and prepare those already working in the capacity of supervisor, manager, team leaders, officers and maintenance officers in their working place to acquire knowledge of safety and health under the Mauritian Occupational Safety & Health Legislations. This course will provide learners with an understanding of: the requirements of safety, health and welfare; the benefits of a safety and health management system; the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards; the principles of risk assessment and incident investigation.
